Experience Ultimate Respite at Our Exclusive Cooroy Farmstay
Nestled in the rolling hills of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. take in the clean country air and fully detach from the hectic pace of life in this little slice of idyllic rural living. Imagine the sun lowering onto a verdant hillside. Bees in the herb garden, busy beeping. A row of white ducks waddling up from the dam. a starry sky full of stars. Around a crackling fire pit are Adirondack chairs.
The Mission House is located on Cooroy Mountain Road, one of the most renowned thoroughfares in the outback. Less than 30 minutes can be spent driving to Noosa’s famous Main Beach and only five minutes to the picturesque agricultural village of Cooroy. As a working farm, there are frequently cuddly horses, newborn chickens to hug, and goats to milk. You are welcome to observe and pet the animals while you are here as long as you are supervised by us. Children that come to the Mission House seem to be enthralled by the workings of nature, and we are happy to address any enquiries they may have about life cycles, manure, and the origins of eggs!
Accommodation
The accommodation has a rustic, old-world charm. It has been painstakingly renovated and furnished for comfort. The louvre windows and wooden floors have been kept, and the serene whites and blues of provincial rural décor perfectly frame the exquisite woodwork. The house has two large bedrooms that can accommodate up to four people, a gourmet kitchen, a formal dining room with a view of the mountains, a comfortable lounge with a smart TV and reading nook, ceiling fans throughout, and air conditioning.
About 1938, a local family in Proston constructed the home. Local timbers such as crow’s ash, flooded gum, spotted gum, and some hoop pine were used in its construction. In the 1950s, the family moved the house, board by board, to Tewantin. A new owner bought the house in 1970 and bequeathed it to us. Her life’s work was to assist individuals with their spiritual and physical well-being. She left the house to us since she didn’t want it to be demolished once she was gone. The “Mission House,” named in her honour, seeks to carry on the tradition by giving visitors a space to relax, recuperate, and re-establish connections.
